Why we're building it

Deal hunting runs on trust, and trust is in short supply:

• Deals are often dead or never real. Expired deals stay up for days, listed prices don't match the store, and “sale” prices are often the normal price.
• Alerts are loved but broken. They flood, duplicate and arrive late.
• Rankings are distrusted. People suspect staff, bots and paid placement of pushing what reaches the top.
• Quality is expensive. Established deal sites pay editors to vet deals by hand, and don't consistently show when a price was checked or what it usually is.

What we do differently

• Verification, shown openly. Every deal carries the time its price was last checked and what the item usually costs, from price history we record ourselves.
• Ranking that can't be bought. Votes and verification decide what rises. Automated and staff posts are labelled, and automated posts never vote.
• Automation without the noise. Machine-found deals pass the same checks as everything else, and alerts are de-duplicated and capped.
• AI that writes words, never prices. AI helps summarise deals and powers an assistant that answers only from live, checked deals. Prices only ever come from store and network data.

What we won't do

• Publish a doubtful deal. When a check can't be passed, the deal is held back.
• Sell or share personal data for advertising.
• Run display ads or pop-ups, or let money change a deal's ranking.
• Copy other deal sites, or read retail sites that don't allow it.

Where we are

Savebucks is in private testing in the US. The web, iOS and Android apps are built from one codebase so they can launch together, with one account and the same saves, alerts and settings everywhere.
